Leave a Legacy - Planned Giving offers creative, flexible ways to support IPC.  What will be your legacy?

  • Bequests - Make a gift through your will or living trust. A way to make a permanent statement of your values and how you will be remembered.
  • Gifts of Life Insurance - If you have a life insurance policy that has outlived its original purpose, consider naming Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake (IPC) as the new owner. For example, many people purchase policies to protect minor children, and later find those children are financially independent adults. In these cases, transferring ownership of the policy to IPC can transform it into a meaningful legacy gift.  You may also choose to designate IPC as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your life insurance policy. This option allows you to retain ownership of the policy during your lifetime while ensuring that your commitment to protecting sacred land and water continues for generations to come.
  • Gifts of Retirement Assets - Donating retirement assets, such as those in an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or other tax-deferred plan, is a smart way to make a gift to IPC.  Donors typically arrange for IPC to receive such assets once their lives have ended and they no longer need them. This can be accomplished by completing a simple beneficiary designation form. If you are 70½ or older you may also be interested in a way to lower the taxable income on the amount you must withdraw from your traditional IRA each year. This so-called “IRA charitable rollover” is a way you can help continue our work and benefit this year.
  • Company Match - Did you know that many companies will match the donations that their employees make to non-profits? Some also match their employees’ volunteer hours! Check with your company’s human resources department to find out about its matching-gift policy. 
  • Endowment - Endowment ensures that your commitment to protecting sacred land and water continues for generations to come. We are growing our endowment fund and appreciate your financial support. Please consider IPC in your estate or trust plans so your legacy becomes a lasting source of restoration.  
  • Transfer Stock- You can give through a gift of appreciated securities.  Because stock transfers arrive in our account without donor identifications, please notify us when initiating your gift. Email:  [email protected] and include:

  2. Mailing address
  3. Name of Stock and number of shares
  4. Intended purpose of your gift
  • Donor-Advised Funds - Directly recommend grants from your donor-advised fund, (DAF)- free of charge and transaction fees.
